The Shot begins as a POV inside the dollarita glass, looking straight up, as the camera lens quickly pulls back through the glass. Simultaneously the dollarita liquid can be seen coming towards the lens. As the shot progresses the ice cubes collapse over the lens as the dollarita liquid hits the ice causing an explosion in front of the lens as the glass fills up.
Director's Story Board
A Camera track designed for high speed and short travel. The shot required nine inches of travel.
Here, you see all the elements of the rig working together and synchronized. A sled pulls the camera downward, a pneumatic popper, launches the ice, and a pour rig delivers the liquid. All timed to 1/1000 of a second.
